Scarlett Johansson is not the only female character in the Joss Whedon's upcoming superhero blockbuster movie, "The Avengers," but she is the only female superhero, The Black Widow.
"It is true that the movie is only going to have one female avenger," said Whedon, according to Moviehole. "But she will not be the only female character."
As for the story of the flick, which is also staring Robert Downey Jr, Samuel L.Jackson, Clark Gregg, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo, Whedon revealed, "It will be a new story that has many things from different arcs of the comics in it. There is no one Avengers story that you can just do the way that you can do the origin of Spider-Man. You really have to cull from the original and The Ultimates, which is one of The Avengers titles."

Looking somewhat less Photoshopped, Scarlett Johannson does vamp in new Dolce & Gabbana's Evocative Beauty Collection.
In the new ad, the 25 year-old actress dons Gothic purple lips and smoky eye makeup as she goes over to the dark side in a sexy satin ensemble set against a leopard print backdrop.
"It's really all about the lips-very shiny and dark, super sexy. I downplayed the eyes, which are still gorgeous, but it's a subtle kind of power, very implicit. I was going for a look that is very much about 'now' but is also ultra Dolce & Gabbana, capturing their ultimate signature look for beauty," makeup guru Pat McGrath said of the campaign. "[It's] very suggestive, mysterious- yet still very bold. To me, that's what the fall is all about."
Last year, Scarlett was featured in the series of ads, where she channeled Marilyn Monroe in a decidedly sexy homage to fifties glamour.

According to Vulture, the $20 million indie film of David O. Russell is expected to start shooting this October.

Scarlett Johanson is working on a documentary film called "The Whales" with her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
In the film, which tells about Luna, a baby killer whale, who gets separated from his family while off the coast of Vancouver becomes friendly with humans, Scarlett is serve as a co-executive producer, while Reynolds as a executive producer and a narrator.

Scarlett Johansson always ready to shop, even with her hectic schedule. She insisted her profession doesn't keep her as busy as it may seem and she often goes long periods without work.
"I don't have the busiest agenda. I'm just an actress for hire. So I have months and months where I just sit around and wait for jobs. There'salways time for shopping," the 'Iron Man 2'actress said.
She added on shop to all over the world to buy ideal wardrobe for a movie career and said, "When I'm travelling the most important things is to pack items that go easily from day to night. So that could be a nice easy jacket or blazer, a pair of black trousers, boots, and a dress that can be worn with leggings."

Scarlett Johansson was sexy in a classic black D&G corset and suit as she attended the panel discussion for The Avengers during Comic-Con 2010 at San Diego Convention Center in California on Saturday, July 24.
On stage, it was announced that ScarJo will play Black Widow in director Joss Whedon's feature film version of the Marvel Comics superhero team "The Avengers."
In addition to Johansson, the cast of "The Avengers" including Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Clark Gregg as Coulson, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner.
